Israel should join European countries in banning the herbicide glyphosate.
In Israel, there is widespread use of herbicides in agriculture and urban landscaping. Glyphosate is often applied to wheat, banana, avocado, watermelon, melon, grapes and other agricultural produce. Municipalities often use Roundup and other pesticide products that contain glyphosate to maintain landscaping in parks, gardens, playgrounds and other public open spaces.
Adam Teva V’Din is calling on government agencies to act in accordance with the precautionary principle and to ban the use of glyphosate.
